On February 24, the excitement surrounding Freya Skye’s Stars Align Tour was already impossible to miss long before the doors opened at The Fillmore Detroit. There is always something in the air when we find ourselves at El Club. Maybe it is the intimacy of the space. Maybe it is the way Detroit weather insists on being theatrical. On Saturday, February 28, 2026, winter decided to put on a show of its own, whipping up a full blizzard with icy rain slicing through the city. It did not matter. Bryce Vine brought his Let’s Do Something Stupid Tour to town, and Detroit showed up hungry.

El Club in Detroit, MI, welcomed Alex Sampson and the ‘Thank You For Loving Me’ Tour for a night that felt incredibly special, despite the illness that was sweeping its way through the lineup for the evening. But none of them let it dampen the night, and it was proven time and time again that the show really can go on even when you're feeling under the weather.

On the evening of February 17, 2026, just after 6:30 PM, a line of fans stretched far beyond the entrance of St. Andrew’s Hall in Detroit, waiting for performances from Badflower, Point North, and Olive Vox. The line spilled across the parking lot, wrapped around the block, and disappeared toward the far sidewalk. The February air was cold, fog hanging low across the city, but no one moved. No one left.

The Fillmore Detroit has a way of making every show feel larger than itself, and on February 10, it became the gathering place for fans of Motion City Soundtrack, many of whom had carried these songs with them for years. Its towering ceilings and ornate gold detailing framed the room with a sense of permanence, a reminder that countless performances had lived and ended within those same walls.

Panda House, one of the local legends of Detroit, is releasing their sixth album. Formed in 2012, Panda House has been on the circuit for a while, after their 2024 EP, The Means, and their return with their latest album, a self-titled journey spanning their career to date, accompanied by a vinyl release through Third Man Records.

Detroit did not blink at the weather. Even with a snowstorm delaying flights and pushing doors nearly two hours past schedule, the crowd kept arriving. People bundled against wind and ice still chose to stand shoulder-to-shoulder inside The El Club, a small venue with the energy of something much larger. It was our first time shooting here, and stepping into a space without a barricade meant we became part of the audience instead of perched in front of it.

Lila Holler writes like she’s slowly unfastening something fragile inside herself. Her sound shifts between indie pop glow and alt-folk vulnerability, shaped by a life spanning coasts, climates, and now continents. That constant motion shows up in her music as shifting light and quiet self-redefinition, the kind that comes from picking yourself up and starting again in new places until you learn what feels like home.

November 14th was a jam-packed day at The House of Blues in Cleveland, OH. The Academy Is… was playing in the main room, and Mac Saturn packed the smaller Cambridge Room at the venue. The house was buzzing with fans excited to see their show of choice that evening. The intimate Cambridge Room was filled with people of all ages, ready to have a 70s rock-inspired evening. 

Some bands have been here for most of your life. Others have been here longer than you have even been alive. Mayday Parade has been a band for twenty years. All Time Low has been a band for twenty two. The crowd reflected that timeline in full. Some people first heard these songs on burned CDs and shared iPods. Others found them on streaming years later. Different ages, different entry points, but everyone already knew the words. This wasn’t nostalgia. This was continuity.

Marking the 20th anniversary of their seminal debut Chroma, Cartel took Detroit back to 2005 with a front-to-back play through that had fans hanging on every note.

On September 12, 2025, Quinn XCII turned the Michigan Lottery Amphitheater into a hometown celebration, with a crowd that felt less like strangers and more like family invited to the biggest backyard party in Sterling Heights.

Detroit got a full dose of dream-pop intensity when Phantogram brought their tour to The Fillmore on Sunday night. The ornate theater became a swirling storm of bass, synths, and flashing lights, and by the end of the night, it felt less like a concert and more like being pulled into the band’s own universe.

For me, this wasn’t just another show; it was the culmination of following two artists whose music found me at the right time. I’ve been listening to both Livingston and Braden Bales since 2023, originally discovering them through TikTok. But Livingston’s latest release, A Hometown Odyssey: The Story Continues, transformed me from a casual listener into a full-blown fan. As of this moment, he’s my most-played artist of 2025. After this show, that’s not changing anytime soon.

On a wet and slightly dreary Tuesday night in Detroit, Half•Alive offered an antidote to the gloom, delivering an immersive audiovisual experience that blurred the lines between concert and performance art.
