It is always admirable to see artists, songwriters or producers spread their knowledge and guide the new generation. Autumn Rowe is a bright example of not only expanding one’s skills but using every bit of knowledge to move everyone forward and advocate for a better tomorrow. The talented songwriter is proof that the music industry, while it still needs improvements, provides opportunities to those who dare take the plunge.

It’s Always Been About Music

Autumn Rowe’s journey began in New York where she was born, she was surrounded by music and thus began her journey. Since she was young her path always revolved around music.

From her Junior High days enrolling in a gifted and talented program to performing in different choirs or creating a band, she worked her way to where she is today.

Songs That Will Live Forever

Rowe’s name is in the credits of many beloved songs including “Swagger Jagger” by Cher Lloyd, “Salt” by Ava Max and “Room for 2” by Dua Lipa. Her work in 5 tracks from Job Batiste’s album ‘We Are’ earned her a Grammy Award. The album was highly praised and moved many people. “Happiness” by Alexis Jordan was also penned by Autumn Rowe very early on in her career and it made its way to the FIFA Women’s World Cup as its official song in 2011. The amount of artists she has collaborated with throughout the years is admirable, from Miley Cyrus and Jesse McCartney to Kylie Minogue and a young post-Disney Channel Zendaya.

The Multi-Hyphenate Artist

Some songwriters are artists, others dive into producing and a few become vocal coaches. Autumn Rowe does all of it, she in addition, has made a name for herself as a DJ. Her stage name is AFTR PRTY and her sets have made it all the way to Europe. Rowe has vocal coached artists such as Fifth Harmony and Grace VanderWaal.

Advocacy for Songwriters, Women in Music and Her Message

Rowe advocates strongly for fairness in the music industry. She serves on the board of SONA (Songwriters of North America), she co-founded a songwriter fund during the pandemic to help aid financially struggling songwriters and continuously advocates for women by speaking at events. This is only a small description of the work she has done, her efforts have reached broader places. Part of the last sentence in the about section of her website reads as follows “ in a world where not all musicians can survive, there can be no music in the world.” That is a sentiment proven by her actions.

Autumn Rowe has been using her voice and platform to bring forth issues that are important to people within this industry. Without people like her to advocate for women, fair compensation and lend her time to mentor other songwriters and musicians, the change we want would be further away. Rowe’s efforts are appreciated and she should be celebrated for them. We will be sure to keep up with her as she continues to spread her knowledge and provide the world with more music.
