What Is Happening Musically with Katseye: New Documentary, WILD EP and Press Tour

Katseye's documentary gives us a behind-the-scenes glimpse into rehearsals for some of their most popular performances and the making of their new EP.

In Katseye’s musical journey lately, many things remain unclear in the media, but one thing is crystal clear: Katseye is everywhere. They continue to gain momentum and be the talk of pop culture enthusiasts everywhere. Their music is experimental, catchy, pop-driven, and exciting; appealing to young children, teens, and adults alike.
Recently, the girl group released a documentary, KATSEYE: WILD HEARTS, in anticipation of their WILD EP, now available. It was an enjoyable look with many personality-driven moments. The documentary itself was too short, and the editing felt awkward at times, but what truly shone through were the behind-the-scenes bits we got to see. Things like the effect the pressure of rising to fame has on mental health, and the stamina and precision needed to perform a high-energy pop song. It was fun to see the girls experiment with their looks behind the scenes during their photoshoots and music videos.
While the documentary touched on their single releases, making of music videos like “Gabriella” and their Gap campaign, it quickly moved on from one phase to the next. The most fascinating part for us was seeing the moments from when they first became a group, their show at the El Rey Theater, and their roles within the group. The look into the conversations and disappointment around the initial negative criticism “Gnarly” received was very real, and it was relieving to see the enthusiasm for the single later; after all, the virality, good or bad, launched Katseye to the center of attention in pop culture.
A WILD Adventure
Overall, the documentary was a small look into the world of Katseye. There is much more to be explored, especially with the release of their new EP, WILD. WILD is a 5-track project in which Katseye experiments with a mix of catchy pop melodies, genre blending, and the incorporation of the Portuguese language. It feels as though we are on a musical journey, an adventure of sorts, while listening to this EP. Early in their career, Katseye’s music was softer, brighter pop, but these songs offer more spunky exploration. They are evolving as a group right before our eyes. A quote from the documentary that made it clear what direction Katseye is heading is:
“We’re not trying to reference, we’re trying to create.”
The 5 tracks of the EP “PINKY UP”, "Animal ", "Hootie Frutti”, “Bel Air”, and “That Way” all have their own charisma. Our personal favorite, “Animal,” is a catchy, addictive song that Ed Sheeran co-wrote. “Unloveu” is a track co-written and co-produced by Lara, and it was released only as an exclusive bonus track. A portion of the documentary touched on this, and it was charming to see her drive for the group not only as a member/performer but also as a songwriter/producer.
Charisma and Looks on Their Press Tour
Katseye had their press tour for the release of their EP and Documentary. They looked glamorous, and their charisma oozed out during their segments. They performed “Animal,” and the cohesiveness of their recent wardrobe styling makes their girl-group appeal even stronger.
They are set to begin the European leg of their tour on September 1, 2026; then they will have United States & Mexico tour dates. At times, during their special appearances or performances, only a few members show up in person. While we miss all of them, they have mentioned several times that mental and physical health remains a priority. We can only hope this arrangement gives them what they need to continue their pop star careers.
