Sylvaner Makes His Artist Debut With “Pentimento” - A Creative First Single

A first look into Sylvaner’s musical capabilities after making the transition from studio engineer to artist.

Sylvaner recently released his first single, “Pentimento,” which is notably a creative output of talent. In this ambitious 4-minute and 33-second track, Sylvaner dives into his feelings about heartbreak with a soulful and enchanting sound. Not many artists release such a lengthy track to kickstart their career, but Sylvaner did…. and it works!

This first track works well as Sylvaner’s first single simply because it is an experience. It doesn’t try to grab the general listener, but rather it begins to set up who Sylvaner the artist is and who he will be moving forward. It is a mixture of sounds, instruments, and genres that work well together and pull you into his own world. The song itself is heartfelt and soulful, which allows us to connect with the lyrics and overall atmosphere. Sylvaner had a clear direction when it came to crafting his sound and used his talents in writing, singing, producing, and engineering to release that vision into the world.

Pentimento and Lyrics

Sylvaner expresses deep heartbreak through lyrics 

The definition in Merriam-Webster for the word pentimento is “a reappearance in a painting of an original drawn or painted element which was eventually painted over by the artist”. The lyrics take us on a heartbreaking journey with him as he reminisces and self-reflects on the beginning and end of a relationship, perfectly encapsulating the multi-layered nature of feelings and the healing process.

Sylvaner The Artist, What’s Next?

With a solid first single, what is next for Sylvaner? 

He is currently signed to Handwritten Records, an independent label based in Las Vegas. While we don’t know the details of future releases, we hope to continue to see Sylvaner evolve as an artist. “Pentimento” is just the beginning of what can be a fulfilling career as an artist.
