If you’ve ever been a fangirl or fanboy, you know this feeling all too well. Somehow, seeing your favorite band or musician has become a competition. People are fighting at the barricade, on the internet, and what was once an uplifting community and a safe space has turned into a place where adults in their 30s and 40s bully each other until someone is crying to the algorithm for help. And alas, the cycle continues. But when does it end?

The reasoning behind some of the greatest songs in history never made it to the top spot on the charts.  Just imagine, hearing the same songs everywhere you go - at a bar, a mall, a grocery store, or the radio, and thinking that there is no way it didn’t hit the number one spot on the charts. The reality is that some of the songs that marked our middle school, high school, or college experiences didn’t even come close to that coveted spot.

Panda House, one of the local legends of Detroit, is releasing their sixth album. Formed in 2012, Panda House has been on the circuit for a while, after their 2024 EP, The Means, and their return with their latest album, a self-titled journey spanning their career to date, accompanied by a vinyl release through Third Man Records.
