Lil Skies brought The Metamorphosis Tour to a close with a sold-out show on Sunday, October 25, at the House of Independents in Asbury Park, New Jersey. DJ Tea kicked off the night with a playlist featuring XXXTENTACION, Sheck Wes, Kanye West, and more, setting the tone for the evening. New Jersey artist Gabriel followed, bringing hometown energy to the stage and getting the crowd hyped ahead of special guest Killakam.
Killakam dedicated his setlist with tracks from Juice WRLD, Lil Uzi Vert, and others. His set also made room for a tribute, calling on the crowd to shout “Rest in Peace” for Juice WRLD, XXXTENTACION, and Mac Miller. It was a moment of shared appreciation for artists whose music continues to connect with fans.

The intimate atmosphere at the House of Independents was apparent before Lil Skies even took the stage. With no real barricade separating the crowd from the artists, the stage itself acted as the barricade. Fans who’ve waited hours before doors opened were the first to claim their spots on the floor, high-fiving one another and taking videos and selfies of themselves and the empty room behind them before it filled up.

When Lil Skies took the stage, it was only him and DJ Killakam. With no official setlist posted for fans to follow along, he opened the sold-out show with his 2023 single “BASE,” a perfect choice to kick off his final performance of The Metamorphosis Tour, before moving into “Creeping” and “Havin’ My Way.”
Lil Skies then went into his 2018 mixtape Life of a Dark Rose with songs including “Welcome to the Rodeo” and “Signs of Jealousy.” The mixtape remains one of his most recognizable projects, capturing the era when his work with multimedia and music video company Lyrical Lemonade helped introduce him to a wider audience and shaped him into the artist he is today. Skies asked for the stage lights to be turned off and requested only phone flashlights to be turned on before moving into his 2019 album, Shelby.

He performed the opening track from the album, “I.” With the song being stripped already, he took the chance to have an intimate moment with the crowd, as all you heard was him and the crowd. Skies then continued with “Make a Wish,” “My Anxiety,” and “Fidget.” He followed with his featured appearance on PnB Rock’s “I Like Girls,” revisiting a popular collaboration from his catalog. Lil Skies went back to Life of a Dark Rose, continuing with “Cloudy Skies,” “Lust,” and “Nowadays.” These songs brought together some of his most recognizable songs, giving longtime fans another chance to revisit the mixtape that helped launch his career.

Lil Skies followed with “Magic,” “RAGE!,” and “Red Roses” before taking a moment to address the crowd. He took a moment to reflect on how he couldn’t believe it’s the final stop of the tour. He thanked everyone for coming out and expressed how much everyone’s support meant to him. He was met with cheers and boos from fans, who had mixed emotions and weren’t ready for the night to end. To close out the night, Skies returned to “Lust” for a second performance, giving fans one last chance to sing along before The Metamorphosis Tour officially came to an end in Asbury Park.
